CAD/CAM design

CADComputer-aided design (CAD) involves creating computer models defined by geometrical parameters.

These models typically appear on a computer monitor as a three-dimensional representation of a part or a system of parts, which can be readily altered by changing relevant parameters.

CAD systems enable designers to view objects under a wide variety of representations and to test these objects by simulating real-world conditions. The CAD software helps designer in visualizing the final product that is to be made, it sub assemblies and the constituent parts.

The product can also be given animation so we can see how the actual product will work. CAD systems offer greater accuracy, possible errors are drastically reduced in the product leading to better design.

Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) is the use of computer software to control machine tools and related machinery in the manufacturing of workpieces.
